Overview

Xano’s webhook integration makes it incredibly easy for different services to talk to each other without any extra effort required. It’s your go-to for instant updates, notifications from third-party apps, and connecting everything without having to lift a finger. What it requires is setting up endpoints, choosing the right HTTP methods, and making sure your data is safe with proper authentication. This ensures data moves smoothly and securely between Xano and whichever services are in use. With webhooks in play, workflows become more efficient, actions are triggered based on specific events, and everything stays in sync across multiple platforms.

How to use Xano’s webhook integration for external services?

Step 1: Accessing the Webhooks Page

Alright, let's get started with Xano’s webhook integration! First, log into your Xano account. From the main dashboard, head over to the "Add-ons" section. Once you're there, find and click on "Webhooks".

Step 2: Creating a New Webhook

In the Webhooks interface, you'll see a "Create Webhook" button. Give that a click. A form will pop up where you can set up your new webhook.

Step 3: Configuring Webhook Name and URL

In the form, give your webhook a name that makes sense to you. In the "Webhook URL" field, type in the URL of the external service that will be receiving the webhook requests.

Step 4: Setting HTTP Method and Headers

Next, choose the HTTP method (POST, GET, PUT, DELETE) that the external service needs. If you need to add headers, click "Add Header" and fill in the key-value pairs.

Step 5: Configuring Request Body

If the external service needs a request body, you can set it up here. You can either write JSON or use Xano’s visual interface to set parameters. The "Request Body" section lets you include dynamic data from your Xano database.

Step 6: Setting Up Conditions and Filters

In the Conditions section, set up any conditions that need to be met for the webhook to trigger. You can also add filters to fine-tune when and what data is sent to the external service.

Step 7: Testing the Webhook

Before you finalize everything, test the webhook by clicking the "Send Test" button. This will simulate a real request and show the response from the external service, so you can make sure everything is set up correctly.

Step 8: Activating the Webhook

Once you're happy with the configuration and test results, save your webhook and toggle its status to "Active". Your webhook is now live and will start sending data to your specified external service based on the conditions you defined.

Step 9: Monitoring Webhook Activity

To keep an eye on your webhook’s activity, go back to the Webhooks section in Xano. Select the specific webhook to view logs and detailed info about successful and failed requests. This helps you make sure everything is working correctly and gives you insight for troubleshooting if needed.
