First things first, log in to your Xano account and head over to the dashboard.

You can either pick an existing API endpoint or create a new one. Just click on the + API Group button and then + Add Endpoint.

If you need to, define the input parameters for your API endpoint. Click on the + Add Input button and specify the name, type, and whether it’s required.

After setting up the endpoint, go to the Function Stack section. This is where the magic happens with conditional logic.

Click the + Add button in the Function Stack and choose the Conditional block from the options.

Inside the Conditional block, set up the condition you want to check. You can compare input parameters, constants, or even query results. Xano’s interface makes it easy to pick the variable and condition type (like equal to, greater than, etc.).

Depending on whether your condition is true or false, you can add different blocks under each branch:

• Click on the True tab to add functions that should run if the condition is true. You can click + Add to include various functions like Query, Set Variable, Loop, etc.

• Click on the False tab to add functions for when the condition is false.

Inside the True and False branches, add the steps needed to handle each scenario. This might involve querying databases, transforming data, or setting variables.

Once you’ve added and configured your logical conditions, click the Save button to keep your changes. Use the Test tab within the API endpoint to run tests with different input values to make sure your conditional logic works correctly.

After thorough testing, deploy your API endpoint. Your conditional logic will now be active and handle requests as defined.
