First things first, start by creating a new base or picking an existing one in Airtable where you want to gather data using rollup fields.

Make sure you've got at least two related tables. One should have the detailed records (like "Transactions") and the other should be the parent table (like "Accounts").

In the detailed records table (e.g., "Transactions"), create a "Linked Record" field that links to the parent table (e.g., "Accounts"). This sets up the relationship between the individual records and the parent table.

Head over to your parent table (e.g., "Accounts") and add a new field. Choose "Rollup" as the field type.

When prompted, configure the rollup field:

• Choose the linked record field: Select the linked record field you created in Step 3.
• Choose the field to roll up: Pick the specific field from the detailed records table you want to aggregate (e.g., "Amount").
• Function: Choose the aggregation function, like SUM, AVERAGE, MIN, MAX, or a custom formula.

If you went with the custom formula option for the function, you can further define the formula to fit more complex aggregation needs. For example, you can use ARRAYSUM(values) to sum all linked values.

Double-check the rollup field configuration to make sure it's set up correctly. Save the field, and the aggregated values will now show up in your parent table. These values update dynamically based on changes in the linked detailed records.

Add or update records in your detailed records table (e.g., "Transactions"). Check that the rollup field in your parent table (e.g., "Accounts") accurately reflects the aggregated data.

If needed, create more rollup fields to aggregate different data fields or use different aggregation functions. Repeat Steps 4-8 for each new rollup field.

Use Airtable's views to filter and sort your parent table based on the rollup fields. This will help you better analyze and visualize the aggregated data.
