Glide’s calendar component is a great tool for managing and showing events in your app. When you add this feature, it can really improve how users interact by giving them a clear view of what's coming up. By linking the calendar with your data sources, everything can update automatically which makes for a smooth and real-time experience. Head over to the Glide Apps website and log in with your account details. If you don't have an account yet, you'll need to create one first.
Once you're in, you can either start a new app by clicking the "New App" button or open an existing one where you want to add the calendar component.
Pick the app you want to work on. This will open up the Glide Editor, where you can tweak and add components to your app.
In the bottom left corner of the Glide Editor, you'll see a "Tabs" section. Click the "+" button to add a new tab. Give it a name like "Calendar" or something that makes sense to you.
With your new tab selected, look over to the right-hand panel and find the "Layout" dropdown menu. Choose "Calendar" from the list of layouts.
In the right-hand panel, under the "Data" section, pick the data source that has the events you want to show in the calendar. Make sure this data source has at least one date field.
After you've chosen the data source, map the right date field to the calendar. This field should have the event dates you want to display.
You can customize how each event shows up in the calendar. Map additional fields like event names, descriptions, or locations to show up in the event details.
Still in the right-hand panel, go to the "Options" section to tweak visual settings like colors, fonts, and other appearance-related stuff for a more personalized look.
Click the "Preview" button at the top of the Glide Editor to see how the calendar looks and works. Make sure the dates, event details, and overall layout are just right.
If you're happy with the calendar and everything else in your app, click the "Publish" button to make your app available to others.
Changes should save automatically, but it's always a good idea to double-check everything before you go live.
