Figma's commenting tool makes working together and giving feedback a breeze. Designers, developers, and stakeholders can chat directly in a design file. Real-time updates along with threaded discussions make it easy to review and ensure feedback is clear and actionable. Highlight specific parts of a design, tag team members, and mark comments as resolved after changes. Mastering Figma's commenting can really smooth out your workflow, improve communication, and boost the quality of design projects.
First things first, open up your Figma file where you need to leave some feedback. Make sure you have the right permissions to drop comments.
Look up at the top-right corner of Figma. See that little speech bubble icon? That's your 'Comment' tool. Click on it.
Now, click anywhere on the design where you want to leave a comment. This will place a comment pin right there.
A comment box will pop up after you place the pin. Go ahead and type your feedback in that box.
If you want to make sure a specific team member sees your comment, just type “@” followed by their name. Figma will even give you suggestions as you type. Handy, right?
Once you're happy with your feedback and have tagged anyone necessary, hit the 'Send' button or just press 'Enter' to submit it.
To see existing comments, click the comment icon again or hover over the comment pins on the canvas. To reply, click on a comment and type your response in the box that appears, then press 'Enter' to send it off.
After the feedback has been taken care of, click the 'Resolve' button on the comment. This will mark it as resolved and remove it from the canvas view.
To keep an eye on all the feedback, open the 'Comments' panel from the right sidebar. This section shows all comments, whether they're resolved or not.
In the 'Comments' panel, you can use the filter option to sort comments by 'Unresolved' or by team members. This makes managing feedback a breeze.
