How to use Adalo's signature pad component?

Step 1: Open Adalo and Select Your Project

Log in to your Adalo account and open the project where you want to integrate the signature pad component.

Step 2: Access the Components Marketplace

On the left panel, click on the "Marketplace" button to access Adalo's component library. This button is typically represented by a shopping bag icon.

Step 3: Search for the Signature Pad Component

In the marketplace search bar, type "Signature Pad" and press enter. Locate the Signature Pad component from the search results.

Step 4: Install the Signature Pad Component

Click on the Signature Pad component card and then click the "Install" button. This will add the component to your available components list.

Step 5: Add the Signature Pad to Your Screen

Navigate back to your project workspace and select the screen where you want to place the signature pad. Drag and drop the Signature Pad component onto the desired location on the screen.

Step 6: Configure the Signature Pad

With the signature pad selected, configure the settings in the side panel. Options may include:

  • Line Thickness: Adjusts the thickness of the drawn signature.
  • Background Color: Sets the background color of the signature pad.
  • Foreground Color: Defines the color of the signature line.
  • Clear Button: Optionally, add a clear button to allow users to reset the signature pad.

Step 7: Bind the Signature to a Database Field (Optional)

To save the signature, bind the signature output to a database field. Click on the signature pad component, then in the side panel, find the "Save to Database" option. Select the appropriate database collection and field where the signature will be saved.

Step 8: Add a Save Button

Add a button to save the signature to the database. Drag a button component onto your screen, set its action to "Update" the user or form entry, and ensure it includes the signature field.

Step 9: Test Your Signature Pad

Preview your application by clicking on the "Preview" button at the top right. Test the signature pad by drawing on it and ensuring it functions as expected. If you configured database binding and a save button, test saving a signature and verify it is stored correctly.

Step 10: Publish Your Application

Once you’ve confirmed that everything works correctly, publish your application by clicking on the "Publish" option in the settings. This makes the signature pad available to your end-users.
