How to use Adalo's list filters?

Step 1: Open Adalo and Select Your App

  1. Head over to Adalo's website and log into your account.
  2. From the dashboard, pick the app you want to add a list filter to.

Step 2: Add a List Component

  1. Click on the design area where you want to place the list component.
  2. On the left panel, drag and drop the "List" component into that spot.
  3. Choose the type of data the list will show, like Users or Products.

Step 3: Configure the List Data

  1. Click on the list component you just added to see the configuration options on the left.
  2. In the "Data" section, link the list to the database collection you want.
  3. Make sure the list items show the right fields by picking them under "Primary Text," "Secondary Text," and so on.

Step 4: Access List Filters

  1. With the list component still selected, look for the "Filters" section on the left panel.
  2. Click the "Add Filter" button to set up a new filter condition.

Step 5: Specify Filter Criteria

  1. A filter rule will pop up in the "Filters" section.
  2. From the dropdown menu, pick the field you want to filter by, like Name, Date, or Category.
  3. Choose the comparison operator, such as Equals, Contains, or Is Greater Than.
  4. Enter the value you want to filter the selected field by.

Step 6: Apply Multiple Filters (Optional)

  1. To add more filters, just click the "Add Filter" button again.
  2. Repeat the steps of picking fields, comparison operators, and entering values.
  3. Adjust the logic between filters if needed, like using AND or OR.

Step 7: Dynamic Filters Using Input Fields (Optional)

  1. Add an input field to the screen where users can type or select filter criteria.
  2. In the filter rule, instead of entering a static value, link the filter value to the input field's value.
  3. This way, the list can be filtered dynamically based on what the user inputs.

Step 8: Preview and Test

  1. Click the "Preview" button to open the app in test mode.
  2. Play around with the filters and see how the list updates based on the filtering criteria.
  3. Make any tweaks needed to ensure the filters work just right.

Step 9: Save and Publish

  1. Once you're happy with the list filters, click "Save" to keep the changes.
  2. If everything looks good, publish the updates to make the filtered list available to all app users.
