From the dashboard, pick the project you want to work on. This will take you to the project-specific interface, where you'll see all the settings and features for that project.

Now, look at the left-side menu and find the "APIs" section. Click on it. This is where you can view, create, and manage your API endpoints and their behaviors.

In the "APIs" section, either pick an existing endpoint or create a new one. This is the endpoint where you'll set up custom error handling.

Click on the endpoint you want to work with. This will open a detailed view. Here, you'll see a "Function Stack" where you can add, edit, and manage the functions that run when this endpoint is called.

In the function stack of the chosen endpoint, click on "Add Function" and select "Condition". Use this condition function to check for specific scenarios that should trigger custom error handling.

Within the condition function, define the logic that determines when and how an error should be handled. This could involve checking for missing parameters, invalid data, or any other custom criteria you deem necessary.

If the condition check fails, add a "Response" function to the stack. Configure this response function to return a custom error message and status code. You can format the error message as a JSON object or any other structure that suits your API design.

After setting up the custom error handling logic, save the changes to your endpoint. Use the "Test" feature in Xano to trigger the endpoint and verify that the custom error handling works as expected.
