How to integrate Zendesk with Adalo?

Step 1: Create an Account on Zendesk

First things first, if you don't have a Zendesk account yet, you'll need to sign up. Just head over to the Zendesk website and follow the steps they provide. It's pretty straightforward.

Step 2: Obtain Zendesk API Credentials

  1. Log in to your Zendesk account.
  2. Find the Admin Center, usually in the settings menu.
  3. Go to Channels > API.
  4. Turn on "Token Access".
  5. Generate a new API token and make sure to save it somewhere safe. You'll need it later.
  6. Double-check that the user role linked to this token has API access and the right permissions.

Step 3: Create an Account on Adalo

If you haven't already, sign up for an Adalo account. Just visit the Adalo website and follow the instructions to get registered.

Step 4: Set Up a New App in Adalo

  1. Log in to Adalo.
  2. Click on "Create New App".
  3. Choose whether you want a "Native Mobile App" or a "Desktop Web App".
  4. Fill in the necessary details about your app and hit "Create".

Step 5: Integrate Zendesk API in Adalo

  1. Open your Adalo app's editor.
  2. Go to the "Database" section on the left-hand toolbar.
  3. Add a new Collection for Zendesk data, maybe call it ZendeskTickets.
  4. Click on the "API" icon next to your new Collection to connect an external API.

Step 6: Configure External API

  1. In the API settings, select "Custom Action".
  2. Give your action a name, like FetchZendeskTickets.
  3. Set the method to "GET" to fetch data.
  4. Add the Zendesk API endpoint, something like https://yoursubdomain.zendesk.com/api/v2/tickets.json.
  5. Set up authentication:
  • Choose "Headers" for authentication.
  • Add Authorization as the key.
  • Enter Bearer YOUR_ZENDESK_API_TOKEN as the value, replacing YOUR_ZENDESK_API_TOKEN with the token you got from Zendesk.

Step 7: Map Zendesk Data Fields

  1. You'll get a JSON response with Zendesk ticket data.
  2. Define and map the fields in Adalo to store this data.
  3. Make sure you've created matching properties in the Adalo Collection, like Ticket ID, Subject, and Description.

Step 8: Use the Configured API in Adalo Components

  1. Add a new screen to show Zendesk data, maybe call it Ticket List Screen.
  2. Drag and drop a list component onto your screen.
  3. Bind the list component to the new API Collection (ZendeskTickets).
  4. Customize the list items to show the fields you need, like Ticket ID and Subject.
  5. Optionally, set up actions like fetching more details when an item is clicked.

Step 9: Test the Integration

Preview your app in the Adalo editor and check that the Zendesk data is being fetched and displayed correctly. Make sure all the field mappings are right and the app works as expected.

Step 10: Deploy the App

Once everything looks good, go ahead and deploy your app. Publish it on your chosen platform, whether it's iOS, Android, or the web. Don't forget to check for updates in both Zendesk and Adalo to keep the integration running smoothly.

By following these steps, you should be able to integrate Zendesk with Adalo without too much hassle.
