How to integrate Mailchimp with Webflow forms?

Step 1: Create a Mailchimp Account

  1. Head over to Mailchimp's official website and sign up for an account if you haven't done so already.
  2. Follow the setup instructions to complete your profile and create your first audience. Easy peasy.

Step 2: Create an Audience List in Mailchimp

  1. Navigate to the "Audience" tab in Mailchimp.
  2. Click "Create Audience."
  3. Fill in the required fields like audience name, default email address, default name, etc.
  4. Save your new audience. Done and done.

Step 3: Set Up Webflow Forms

  1. Open your Webflow project.
  2. Navigate to the page where you want to add the form.
  3. Drag and drop a "Form Block" from the Add Panel onto your canvas.
  4. Customize the form fields as necessary (e.g., name, email).
  5. Make note of the form Action URL and field names, as these will be needed later. Trust me, you'll need 'em.

Step 4: Get Mailchimp Audience ID and API Key

  1. In Mailchimp, go to "Audience" and select the audience you've created.
  2. Click the "Settings" drop-down menu and select "Audience name and defaults."
  3. Here you will find your "Audience ID."
  4. For the API Key, go to your Mailchimp account by clicking on your profile.
  5. Navigate to "Account" -> "Extras" -> "API keys."
  6. Generate a new API key if you don't have one, and copy it. Keep it safe!

Step 5: Integrate with Zapier

  1. Sign up or log in to Zapier.
  2. Click on "Make a Zap."
  3. Choose Webflow as the trigger app.
  4. Select "Form Submission" as the event, and connect your Webflow account if prompted.
  5. Choose the specific form from your Webflow project.
  6. For the action app, select Mailchimp.
  7. Choose "Add/Update Subscriber" as the action event and connect your Mailchimp account by entering your API key.
  8. Map the Webflow form fields to the Mailchimp audience fields (e.g., map "email" from Webflow form to "email address" in Mailchimp).
  9. Test your Zap to ensure everything is working. Fingers crossed!
  10. Turn on your Zap. You're almost there.

Step 6: Embed Form Action URL and Field Names in Webflow

  1. Go back to Webflow and select your form.
  2. Click on the form block and navigate to settings.
  3. In the form settings, find the Action field and enter the Zapier webhook URL (Zapier provides this after successfully setting up your Zap).
  4. Ensure each input field in your Webflow form has the correct Name attributes that match those recognized by Mailchimp. Double-check this part!

Step 7: Publish Your Webflow Site

  1. Once everything is set up, save your changes in Webflow.
  2. Click the "Publish" button to make your updates live. And there you go!

That's it! Now your Webflow form should be integrated with Mailchimp, and any submissions from your site will be automatically sent to your Mailchimp audience list.
