How to integrate Google Maps with Glide?

Step 1: Create a Google Cloud Project

  1. Head over to Google Cloud Console.
  2. Click on the project dropdown at the top and pick "New Project".
  3. Give your project a name and hit "Create".
  4. Once it's created, select your project to start working on it.

Step 2: Enable Google Maps APIs

  1. In the Google Cloud Console, go to APIs & Services > Library.
  2. Look for "Maps JavaScript API" and click on it.
  3. Hit the "Enable" button.
  4. Do the same for other APIs like "Geocoding API", "Places API", and "Directions API", depending on what you need.

Step 3: Generate API Key

  1. Go to APIs & Services > Credentials.
  2. Click on "Create Credentials" and choose "API Key".
  3. Copy your API key and keep it safe.

Step 4: Restrict API Key

  1. Click on the API key you just made to set up restrictions.
  2. Under Key restrictions, pick "HTTP referrers (web sites)".
  3. Add the specific referrers or websites where the key will be used, like https://*.yourdomain.com/*.
  4. Under API restrictions, limit the usage to the APIs you enabled earlier (like Maps JavaScript API).
  5. Click "Save".

Step 5: Add API Key to Glide App

  1. Open your Glide app at Glideapps.
  2. Go to the "Settings" of your app.
  3. Select the "General" tab.
  4. Scroll down to find the "Google Maps API Key" field.
  5. Paste your API key in the field.

Step 6: Set Up Map Components

  1. Inside your Glide app, go to the "Layout" tab.
