How to integrate Figma with Slack for notifications?

Step 1: Access the Figma Community Plugins

Open up Figma and look for the "Community" tab on the left side. Click it. In the search bar, type "Slack Figma Integration" to find the plugin that helps send Slack notifications from Figma.

Step 2: Install the Slack Plugin

Find the Slack Figma integration plugin in the search results and click on it. On the plugin’s page, hit the "Install" button to add it to your Figma account.

Step 3: Configure the Slack App

Now, go to Slack. In the sidebar, click on Apps -> Browse App Directory. Search for "Figma" and click on it to install the Figma app in Slack. Follow the steps to add the app to your workspace.

Step 4: Connect Figma to Slack

Open the Figma file you want to set up notifications for. Click the "Share" button in the top-right corner and select "Slack" from the options. If you’re not signed in to Slack, you might need to do that now. Pick the Slack channel where you want the notifications to go.

Step 5: Set Notification Preferences

In Figma, click on the hamburger menu (those three horizontal lines) at the top-left corner. Go to "Account Settings". Under the "Notifications" tab, choose what types of notifications you want to send to Slack (like comments, file updates, new versions). Save your changes.

Step 6: Send a Test Notification

To make sure everything’s working, send a test notification from Figma. Any updates or comments in the Figma file should now show up in the Slack channel you picked. Check to see if the notifications are coming through as expected.

Step 7: Collaborate with Team

Start working with your team by making changes or adding comments to the Figma design. Your team members will get Slack notifications about these updates, making communication and collaboration smoother.
