Overview

Implementing user feedback loops in Glide is a key move to make apps more user-friendly and keep people happy. It means setting up ways to gather, review, and respond to what users say. Think about adding in-app surveys, feedback forms, or even real-time chat. These tools help gather valuable insights. Also, it's important to have systems in place to analyze this data, prioritize suggestions, and roll out updates that users really need. This approach creates a responsive development cycle, making sure user input shapes product improvements. It leads to continuous enhancements and a much better user experience.

How to implement user feedback loops in Glide?

Step 1: Create a New Data Source for Feedback

  1. Fire up Glide.
  2. Head over to the Data tab.
  3. Hit the New Table button.
  4. Call this new table Feedback.
  5. Add some columns to capture user feedback, like:
    • User Name
    • Email Address
    • Feedback
    • Timestamp

Step 2: Design the Feedback Form

  1. Switch to the Layout tab.
  2. Click the + button to add a new screen.
  3. Pick Form as the screen type.
  4. Choose the Feedback table as the data source for this form.
  5. Design the form by adding components that match the columns you created:
    • Text Entry for User Name.
    • Email Entry for Email Address.
    • Multiline Text Entry for Feedback.
    • Date/Time Picker for Timestamp; set it to auto-fill with the current date and time.
  6. Customize button labels and add any validation rules as needed.

Step 3: Add Navigation to the Feedback Form

  1. In the main Navigation bar, add a new Menu Item.
  2. Name it Give Feedback.
  3. Link this menu item to the feedback form screen you created in Step 2.

Step 4: Capture and Store Feedback

  1. Test the Give Feedback menu item to make sure the form opens.
  2. Fill out the form to submit a test feedback entry.
  3. Go back to the Data tab and check that the submitted feedback is being stored correctly in the Feedback table.

Step 5: Display Feedback to Admins

  1. Create a new screen in the Layout tab.
  2. Choose List as the screen type.
  3. Select the Feedback table as the data source for this list.
  4. Customize the list item to show key details like User Name and a summary of the Feedback.
  5. Optionally, set visibility conditions to restrict access based on user roles (e.g., only Admins can view it).

Step 6: Analyze and Act on Feedback

  1. Periodically review the feedback entries captured in the Feedback table.
  2. Use Glide's data features to analyze trends, common issues, and areas for improvement.
  3. Share insights with your team or stakeholders, and take action as needed to address user concerns.

Step 7: Close the Feedback Loop

  1. Create a new screen or message template for responding to feedback.
  2. Within the Data tab, add a Responses column to the Feedback table.
  3. Update the list from Step 5 to include a button for responding to each feedback entry.
  4. Use the column to input your response, ensuring the user feels heard and appreciated.
  5. Optionally, send a follow-up email or notification through Glide's action features to inform the user about the response.

Following these steps, a comprehensive feedback loop system in Glide is created, ensuring user feedback is not just collected but also acted upon effectively.
