First things first, log into your Xano account at Xano. Easy peasy.

Once you're in, head over to the "API" section on the left-hand menu. Find the API group that has the endpoint where you want to create the calculated field.

In that API group, locate and click on the specific endpoint (like GET or POST) where you want to add the calculated fields.

In the endpoint editor, go to the "Output" tab. Click on the "Add Output" button. This is where you'll specify a new output field for your endpoint.

• Click the "+" button to add a new field in the "Output" section.
• Choose "Custom Calculation" from the options.
• Give your field a name that makes sense (like "total_price" or "discounted_rate").

Now, let's get to the fun part. Write the logic for your calculation in the custom calculation field.

Example:

• For a simple sum, you can enter: return input.quantity * input.price;
• For something a bit more complex, like a conditional calculation, you might use:
  ```js
  if (input.quantity > 10) {
  return input.price _ input.quantity _ 0.9; // 10% discount
  } else {
  return input.price * input.quantity;
  }
  ```

Use the "Run & Debug" feature to test if your calculated field is working correctly. Enter some test data and check the response to make sure it includes the calculated field with the right values.

Once you're sure everything's working as it should, hit the "Save" button to save your changes to the endpoint.

Your calculated field is now part of the endpoint's response. You can use this endpoint in your application to get data that includes the calculated field.
