How to create a workflow to manage user permissions in Bubble.io?

  1. Define User Roles in the Database  
  • Navigate to the Data tab in Bubble.io.
  • Create a new field called "Role" in the User data type. This field can be of type Text or Option Set (for better structure).

  2. Set Up Role Assignment During User Signup  
  • Go to the Workflow tab.
  • Create a new workflow triggered by user signup.
  • Add an action to 'Make changes to the current User'.
  • Set the Role field to the default role for new users (e.g., Viewer).
  3. Create Admin Panel for Role Management  
  • Design a page or popup for your Admin panel.
  • Add a repeating group to display a list of users.
  • Inside the repeating group, add a dropdown or buttons to change user roles.
  • Ensure only Admins can access this panel by setting page or element permissions.
  4. Add Workflows to Update User Roles
