How to create a workflow for custom email templates in Bubble.io?

  How to Create a Workflow for Custom Email Templates in Bubble.io   Step 1: Define the Database Structure  
  • Navigate to the Data tab in Bubble.io.
  • Create a new data type for your email templates (e.g., "EmailTemplate").
  • Add necessary fields such as:
    • title - Text
    • subject - Text
    • body - Text
    • recipient - Email
  Step 2: Design the Email Template Form  
  • Go to the Design tab.
  • Drag and drop input elements to create a form that includes fields for Title, Subject, Body, and Recipient Email.
  • Make sure each input element is properly named for easy reference in your workflow (e.g., "Input Title," "Input Subject," "Input Body," "Input Recipient").
  Step 3: Create the Workflow for Saving Templates  
  • Go to the Workflow tab.
  • Create a new workflow that triggers when the "Save" button is clicked.
  • Add an action to "Create a New Thing". Select the "EmailTemplate" data type.
  • Set the fields of the new EmailTemplate with the values from the form inputs.
  Step 4: Design the Email Sending Form  
  • Return to the Design tab.
  • Create another form where users can select a saved template and specify dynamic content (if any), recipient email, etc.
  • Use a Dropdown element populated with saved email templates.
  • Provide inputs for any dynamic content and recipient email if it’s not specified in the template.
  Step 5: Create the Workflow for Sending Emails  
  • In the Workflow tab, initiate a workflow for when the "Send Email" button is clicked.
  • Use the action "Send email".
  • Set up the email parameters:
    • To: Use the recipient email input or default from the selected template.
    • Subject: Pull from the selected template.
    • Body: Pull from the selected template and insert dynamic content if needed.
  Step 6: Test the Entire Workflow  
  • Ensure you test the entire process from saving a new template to sending an email to verify everything works as intended.
  • Make adjustments as needed based on your testing results.
