How to create a style guide in WeWeb?

Step 1: Access the WeWeb Project

First things first, log in to the WeWeb platform and open up the project where you need to create the style guide.

Step 2: Navigate to the Design Tab

Once you're in the project dashboard, look to the left side and click on the "Design" tab in the main navigation menu.

Step 3: Open the Style Settings

Inside the "Design" tab, find "Style Settings" and give it a click. This is where you can tweak the global styles for your project.

Step 4: Configure Typography

  • Click on "Typography" in the style settings menu.
  • Set up your font families, sizes, weights, line heights, and letter spacing for different text elements like headings (h1, h2, etc.), paragraphs, and other text bits.
  • Don't forget to save your typography settings.

Step 5: Set Color Palette

  • Click on "Colors" in the style settings.
  • Pick your primary, secondary, and accent colors. Also, define extra colors for things like backgrounds, texts, and buttons.
  • You can input hex codes or use the color picker to get the shades just right. Make sure they match your brand guidelines.
  • Save the color palette.

Step 6: Define Spacing and Sizing

  • Head over to the "Spacing" section.
  • Set standard spacings for margins, padding, and gaps. You can define these in pixels, percent, rem, or other units.
  • Specify global sizes for containers and elements to keep things consistent across the website.
  • Save these settings.

Step 7: Establish Border and Shadow Styles

  • Go to the "Borders & Shadows" section.
  • Define border widths, radii, and styles for different elements.
  • Set shadow properties, including offset, blur radius, and color for boxes and other components.
  • Save these settings.

Step 8: Create Button Styles

  • Choose "Buttons" from the style settings menu.
  • Customize the button appearance, including background color, text color, padding, border, and hover effects.
  • Define different button styles for primary, secondary, and tertiary buttons if needed.
  • Save the button styles.

Step 9: Save and Apply the Style Guide

After you've configured all the necessary style settings, make sure to save everything. Test the applied styles across different pages and components to ensure they work as intended.

Step 10: Document and Share the Style Guide

Create a document that outlines the style guide, including typography rules, color palette, spacing, border and shadow styles, and button styles. Share this document with the design and development team to ensure consistency in future projects.
