Step 1: Create a New Application

  • Head over to Adalo's website and log in to your account.
  • Click on "Create New App".
  • Decide if you want a "Native Mobile App" or a "Desktop Web App".
  • Pick a template or start from scratch, then name your app and click "Create".

Step 2: Design the User Interface

  • In the app builder, drag and drop a "Screen" component to make a new screen.
  • Name this screen "Q&A Section".
  • Add a "List" component to show the questions and answers.

Step 3: Create Collections for Questions and Answers

  • Go to the "Database" tab on the left sidebar.
  • Click "Add Collection" and name it "Questions".
  • Add properties for the Questions collection, like "Question Text" (Text), "User" (Relationship to Users), and "Timestamp" (Date & Time).
  • Do the same for another collection named "Answers" with properties like "Answer Text" (Text), "Question" (Relationship to Questions), "User" (Relationship to Users), and "Timestamp" (Date & Time).

Step 4: Connect Collections to the List

  • Select the "List" component on the "Q&A Section" screen.
  • Go to the left panel and set the list's data source to the "Questions" collection.
  • Enable "Custom List" to show custom items in the list.
  • Drag and drop text fields into the list items to display the question text and other details.

Step 5: Create a Form to Submit Questions

  • Set the form’s data collection to "Questions".
  • Add necessary input fields like "Question Text".
  • Add a button to the form, and set its "Action" to create a new question in the "Questions" collection.

Step 6: Display Answers Under Questions

  • Inside each list item, add another "List" component to show answers for each question.
  • Set this nested list's data collection to the "Answers" collection.
  • Filter the list to show answers where the "Question" relationship matches the current question.

Step 7: Create a Form to Submit Answers

  • Add input fields like "Answer Text".
  • Set a hidden field or relationship to automatically link the answer to the current question.
  • Add a button to submit the form and create a new answer in the "Answers" collection.

Step 8: Preview and Test
