Head over to the Glide website (https://www.glideapps.com/). If you’re new, sign up for an account. If you’ve been here before, just log in.
Once you’re in, hit the "New App" button to kick off a new project. You’ll need to pick a data source next.
Glide lets you use Google Sheets, Airtable, or Excel files. Pick the one that fits your needs and follow the steps to connect it to Glide.
If you’re going with Google Sheets, set up your data in columns with headers like Name, Email, Phone, etc. Each row should be a different entry. Glide will use this to build your app’s layout.
In Glide, you’ll be asked to connect your Google Sheet. Choose the right one from your Google Drive. Glide will pull in the data and show it to you.
After importing your data, Glide will create a basic app layout for you. You can tweak this by dragging and dropping different components in the Glide Editor. Add screens, lists, maps, buttons, images, and more.
Click on each component to set it up. For example, in a list component, you can choose which column from your Google Sheet will be the Title, Description, and Image. Make sure each component shows the right data.
Go to the "Tabs" section in the Glide Editor. Add or remove tabs to organize how users navigate your app. Link each tab to a specific data source and customize its layout.
If you need users to sign in, go to the "Settings" tab and turn on user authentication. Decide if users can sign in via email, Google, or another method. Set up visibility and data restrictions based on user roles.
Before you launch, test your app thoroughly. Use the preview mode in the Glide Editor to see how it works on different devices (mobile, tablet, desktop). Make any necessary tweaks.
When you’re happy with it, click the "Share" button to publish your app. Glide will give you a URL to share with others. If you have a custom domain, you can enable that too.
Keep your Google Sheet data updated and Glide will sync it automatically. For layout changes, go back to the Glide Editor, make your adjustments, and re-publish your app.
