How to create a feedback widget in Adalo?

Step 1: Sign in to Adalo and Create a New App

  • Open Adalo and sign in to your account.
  • In the dashboard, click on "Create New App."
  • Choose the type of app you want (Native or Web App) and proceed.

Step 2: Set Up Your App Basic Information

  • Give your app a name.
  • Pick a theme if you need one.
  • Click "Create" to get things rolling.

Step 3: Create a New Collection for Feedback

  • Head over to the left sidebar and click on "Database."
  • Click on "Add Collection" and name it "Feedback."
  • Add properties like "User," "Comments," "Rating," and "Timestamp."

Step 4: Design Feedback Form on a Screen

  • Drag a new screen from the left sidebar onto your app’s main area.
  • Name this screen "Feedback Form."
  • Drag and drop form components like text fields for comments and dropdowns for ratings.

Step 5: Bind Form Data to Collection

  • Click on each form element to edit its properties.
  • For each form element, bind it to the corresponding property in the Feedback collection.
  • Don’t forget to add a "Submit" button at the bottom of the form.

Step 6: Set Up Submit Button Actions

  • Click on the "Submit" button to edit its properties.
  • Under the "Actions" tab, select "Create" and choose the Feedback collection.
  • Map the form inputs to the respective collection properties.
  • Add another action to navigate the user to a "Thank You" screen after submission.

Step 7: Create a "Thank You" Screen

  • Drag a new screen onto the app’s main area.
  • Name this screen "Thank You."
  • Add a message like "Thank you for your feedback!" and maybe a button to return to the home screen.

Step 8: Set Up a Feedback Display Screen

  • Drag another new screen onto the app and name it "Feedback List."
  • Add a list component from the left sidebar.
  • Bind this list to the "Feedback" collection.
  • Customize the list to show user names, comments, and ratings.

  • On the home screen or main navigation menu, add a button or link to navigate to the "Feedback Form" screen.
  • Make sure users can easily get to the feedback form and feedback list via navigation components.

Step 10: Test Your Feedback Widget

  • Use the preview feature in Adalo to test the entire feedback process.
  • Submit a test feedback entry and check if it shows up correctly in the Feedback List.

Step 11: Publish Your App

  • Once you’re happy with the feedback widget functionality, go back to the dashboard.
