Head over to the Adalo app's database section.
Create a new collection and call it "Ratings".
Add these fields to the collection:
User: link it to the Users collection.Item: link it to the collection for the items being rated (like Products, Movies, etc.).Score: a number field to store the rating value.Go to the screen where you want to add the custom rating component.
Drag and drop a List component onto this screen.
Set up the List to show items from the collection you want users to rate (like Products, Movies).
Inside each List item, add a custom component or a bunch of icons to represent the rating (like 5 star icons).
Make sure the component or icons are interactive, so users can tap to set the rating.
For each rating icon, add a Click Action:
Score field to the respective rating value (like 1 for the first icon, 2 for the second icon).User field to the Logged-in User.Item field to the respective item being rated.Add a Text field or icon group to your list item to show the average rating.
Use a Formula to calculate the average rating. You can do this using the "Magic Text" and Functions options in Adalo.
Select the "Ratings" collection and filter it to show ratings for the current item only.
Average function on the Score field to display the average rating.Preview the app to test the rating component.
Make sure users can submit ratings and that the ratings are saved to the database correctly.
Check that the average rating displays accurately based on the stored ratings.
