How to configure permissions for different views in Airtable?

Step 1: Open Your Airtable Base

Head over to the Airtable base where you want to set up permissions for different views.

Step 2: Click on the 'Share' Button

Look at the top right corner of your screen and click on the 'Share' button. This will open up the sharing settings for your base.

Step 3: Manage Base Collaborators

In the sharing settings, find the 'Base collaborators' tab. Click on it to manage who can access the entire base. You can invite new people or manage the ones already there.

Step 4: Assign View-Specific Permission Levels

For each collaborator, you can set their permission level to 'Editor', 'Commenter', or 'Read-Only'. These permissions will apply to all views unless you restrict them further on a per-view basis.

Step 5: Open the Target View

Go to the specific view where you want to adjust permissions. You can do this by clicking on the view tabs at the top of your table.

Step 6: Click on the Dropdown Arrow Next to the View Name

In the view tab, next to the view name, there's a small dropdown arrow. Click on it to open a context menu.

Step 7: Select 'Edit permissions'

From the dropdown menu, choose 'Edit permissions' to open the view-specific permission settings.

Step 8: Configure View-Specific Permissions

In the 'Edit permissions' panel, you'll see options to make the view private or share a read-only link. Adjust these settings based on who should have access to this particular view.

Step 9: Save Your Settings

After setting up the permissions for the specific view, make sure to save or confirm your changes so they take effect.

Step 10: Share View-Specific Links

If you created a shareable read-only link, give this link to the people who need access to this view without giving them full base access.

Step 11: Verify View Permissions

Finally, check that the permissions are working as expected by accessing the view as a different user with the assigned permissions. Make sure they can only see and interact with the data according to the permissions you set.
