Alright, first things first, log in to your Xano account with your credentials. Easy peasy.

Once you're in, head over to the dashboard and click on "Data" in the left-hand menu. This will take you to the Data Module.

Now, from the list of tables in your Xano workspace, pick the one you want to add custom validation rules to.

Inside the table you selected, find the gear icon and click it to open up the Table Settings.

Need a new column? Click on "Add Column". If you're tweaking an existing one, just click the pencil icon next to the column name you want to edit.

In the column settings, scroll down until you see the Validation Rules section. Toggle the switch to enable it.

Click on "Add Rule" to set up your custom validation logic. You have a few options here:

• Regular Expression: Use this to make sure the input matches a specific pattern.
• Range: Set a minimum and maximum range for numerical values.
• Custom JavaScript Function: Write your own validation function using JavaScript. Handy for more complex stuff that the built-in options can't handle.

Once you've defined your custom validation rules, hit "Save" to apply the changes to the column.

To make sure everything's working as it should, use Xano's testing functionalities. Insert some sample data into the table and check if the validation rules are doing their job.

Finally, ensure your API endpoints are using these validation rules. Go to the API Module and link the relevant tables with your API Functions.

Repeat these steps for any other tables and columns where you need custom validation rules. This way, you'll keep your data integrity intact across your Xano workspace with customized validation.
