How to build a timeline UI in Bubble.io?

Setting Up Your Bubble.io Workspace

Log into your Bubble.io account. If you don't have one, you can create it for free.
Start a new project or use an existing one.
Familiarize yourself with the dashboard and design interface.

Designing the Timeline Container

Go to the Design tab on the left sidebar.
Drag and drop a Group element onto your page. This will serve as the container for your timeline.
In the Group's property editor, set the ID attribute to "timeline-container" to easily identify it later.
Adjust the size and layout settings of the Group to fit your design preferences.

Creating Timeline Events

Inside the "timeline-container" group, drag and drop multiple Group elements. These will represent individual timeline events.
For each event group, set unique IDs like "event1", "event2", etc.
Inside each event group, add text elements to display information like date, title, and description.
Style each event group according to your design requirements, including background color, borders, and padding.

Adding Dynamic Data

Go to the Data tab to create a new data type called "TimelineEvent".
Within "TimelineEvent", add fields such as "Date", "Title", and "Description".
In the Design tab, click on each event group to bind it to dynamic data. Set it to display data from the "TimelineEvent" data type.
Make sure to use dynamic expressions to bind text elements inside each group to the respective fields (e.g., Current cell's TimelineEvent's Date).

Configuring Repeating Group for Scalability

To handle an unknown number of events, replace the static groups with a Repeating Group element inside the "timeline-container".
Set the Content Type of the Repeating Group to "TimelineEvent".
In the Data Source, set it to "Do a search for TimelineEvents".
Customize the appearance of the cells in the Repeating Group to match the design of your static event groups.

Styling and Final Adjustments

Use Bubble's style editor to create custom styles for text, groups, and repeating group cells.
Ensure that your timeline is responsive by using Bubble's responsive viewer to adjust settings for different screen sizes.
Test the functionality of your timeline by previewing your page and ensuring that data loads correctly in the timeline events.
