How to automate content approvals in Bubble.io?

Step 1: Set Up Your Data Types   •   Create a "Content" data type: You need fields like "Title", "Body", "Status", "Author", and "Reviewer". "Status" will track the approval status (e.g., Draft, Submitted, Approved, Rejected). •   Create a "User" data type: Ensure you have fields for user roles, such as "Is Reviewer" (yes/no) to differentiate between content creators and reviewers.   Step 2: Design the UI   •   Create a submission form: Allow content creators to input the "Title" and "Body" fields. •   Create a content list: Display content items with their current status. Include buttons for actions like Submit for Review, Approve, and Reject based on user roles.   Step 3: Create Workflows for Submitting Content   •   Submission workflow: When the content creator clicks "Submit for Review", add a workflow: Button Click -> Make Changes to Thing -> Content -> Set Status to Submitted.   Step 4: Notify Reviewers   •   Email notifications: Set up an action to send an email to reviewers when the status changes to "Submitted". Use the "Send Email" action and configure the Recipient as dynamic data pulling reviewer emails. •   In-app notifications: Optionally, use custom states or database fields to manage in-app notifications. When content is submitted, change a state or field to trigger a notification for reviewers.   Step 5: Review Workflow   •   Approve content: Create a workflow for when a reviewer clicks "Approve". Add steps: Button Click -> Make Changes to Thing -> Content -> Set Status to Approved. •   Reject content: Similar to approval, configure a workflow for the "Reject" button: Button Click -> Make Changes to Thing -> Content -> Set Status to Rejected.   Step 6: Additional Automation (Optional)   •   Auto-reminders: Set up scheduled workflows to send reminders to reviewers if content is not reviewed within a specific timeframe. Use "Do every X period" action to schedule these reminders. •   Version control: If needed, create a version history for content items by saving previous versions in a separate data type or field before changes are made during reviews.   Step 7: Test Your Workflow   •   Test each step: Ensure each part of your workflow is functioning correctly by testing as both content creators and reviewers. •   Debug: Utilize Bubble’s debugging tools to find and fix any issues within your workflow automations.
