How to add a calendar feature in Adalo?

Step 1: Create a New Collection

  1. Head over to the Adalo editor.
  2. Find the "Database" section.
  3. Click "Add Collection" and create a new one called "Events" or something similar.
  4. Add properties to the "Events" collection like "Title", "Date", "Description", and any other fields you need.

Step 2: Add a Screen for the Calendar

  1. In the Adalo editor, hit the "+" button to add a new screen.
  2. Pick the "Calendar" template if it's there. If not, just use a blank screen.
  3. Name your screen something like "Calendar" or "Events Calendar".

Step 3: Set Up a Calendar Component

  1. On the new screen, click the "+" button again to add a new component.
  2. Look for "Calendar" in the list of components.
  3. Drag and drop the Calendar component onto your screen.

Step 4: Configure the Calendar Component

  1. Select the Calendar component on your screen.
  2. In the properties pane on the left, link the calendar to the "Events" collection.
  3. Map the "Date" property from the Events collection to the Calendar's date field.
  4. Adjust any other settings, like event colors or labels, to suit your needs.

Step 5: Create a Form for Adding Events

  1. Add another screen using the "+" button, and name it "Add Event" or something similar.
  2. Drag and drop a form component onto this screen.
  3. Configure the form to create a new record in the "Events" collection.
  4. Add fields to the form to capture the Title, Date, Description, etc.
  5. Set up a button within the form to submit the data and navigate back to the Calendar screen after submission.

Step 6: Link Screens Together

  1. Go back to the "Calendar" screen.
  2. Add a button or a "+" icon to navigate to the "Add Event" screen.
  3. Set the action of this button or icon to link to the "Add Event" screen.

Step 7: Test the Calendar Feature

  1. Use the preview function in the Adalo editor to test your calendar feature.
  2. Add a few sample events through the "Add Event" form to make sure they show up correctly on your calendar.
  3. Ensure the data is being saved and displayed correctly.

Step 8: Publish Your App
