Step 1: Create A New App in Adalo
 

• Log in to your Adalo account.
• Click on 'Create New App.'
• Select either 'Native Mobile App' or 'Desktop Web App' depending on your preference.
• Pick a template if you like, or start from scratch.

 
Step 2: Add Collections
 

• Go to the 'Database' tab in the left-hand panel.
• Create a new collection named 'Visits.'
• Add properties to this collection. It's recommended to have properties like 'Page Name,' 'X-Coordinate,' 'Y-Coordinate,' and 'Timestamp.'

 
Step 3: Set Up Your Screens
 

• Create the screens in your app where you want to track user interactions.
• Go into each screen, and configure the items and layouts as per your design.

 
Step 4: Record User Interactions
 

• For each interactive element (button, image, link), go to the 'Actions' section.
• Add an action that will create a new record in the 'Visits' collection whenever the element is clicked.
• Ensure to populate the 'Page Name,' 'X-Coordinate,' 'Y-Coordinate,' and 'Timestamp' fields for each interaction.

 
Step 5: Create a Heatmap Outline
 

• Create a blank screen named 'Heatmap.'
• Place a large image or shape that represents the screen you are tracking on this Heatmap screen.

 
Step 6: Visualize Data
 

• In the 'Heatmap' screen, add a 'List' component linked to the 'Visits' collection.
• Customize the list to display each visit as a small semi-transparent circle, showing the 'X-Coordinate' and 'Y-Coordinate' on the large image representing the tracked page.
• Set list filter and sorting criteria to map out the most recent interactions effectively.

 
Step 7: Test and Adjust
 

• Run your app on both desktop and mobile to ensure that the data is recorded accurately.
• Navigate to the 'Heatmap' screen to see the user interactions plotted.
• If necessary, adjust the coordinates or visualization settings for clarity.

 
Step 8: Deploy Your App
 

• Once everything is functional and displaying correctly, proceed to deploy your app live.
• Monitor user interaction data through the heatmap and iterate on improvements.
